About Charlotte De Kroon
I'm originally from the Netherlands and moved to Sheffield with my family in 2017. I graduated in Clinical Psychology from the University of Amsterdam in 1996. After my Masters I have followed additional studies whilst working, including a training program to qualify as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, accredited by the EABCT (European Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Therapy).
I studied CBT for 5 years and find it is a great way of dealing with negative thinking and behaviours. It’s a clear, practical and active approach that most clients appreciate. During my training I got in touch with mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). A beautiful thing about mindfulness and ACT are the gentle and kind approaches they bring, and I like to incorporate these aspects in all my therapy sessions.
I have been working in the psychological health-care field for over 15 years in different settings, including primary care, a hospital oncology clinic and an addictions service.
I had my own private practice CdK in the Netherlands for 7 years. I look forward to meeting you and working together on the things you're struggling with, whether it’s anxiety, stress, feeling low or just a frustrating feeling that you're just not getting what you want out of life.
