About Dr Abigail Barragry

I have spent more than 10 years using creative and expressive arts as a tool to teach, heal and empower. With the integration of various psychological techniques, my work as a therapist and coach has led to extensive work worldwide.
Personal experience led me to further specialise in chronic pain and illness, employing a mindfulness based technique for connecting the body and mind, reframing the emotional impact of pain, and making concrete plans for managing the condition.
All of my work is person-centred, and therapeutic work is tailored to the individual depending on personal needs and goals. I emphasise work on relationships, both with yourself and significant others. My sessions aim to give you the tools you need to manage difficult times, gain more self-awareness, and to make positive choices to fulfil your potential. I believe in finding the right way for you to connect the physical body with the mind, to enhance understanding and gain a deeper awareness, acceptance and control.
I particularly welcome children and teenagers, who make up an ever increasing part of my case-load. I have recently completed my doctoral studies in child and educational psychology.
