About Maria Kaye

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and have worked in Mental Health for more than ten years in a variety of settings, including counselling charities and the NHS.

Reasons for having therapy

We all experience difficulties and challenges at some point in our lives. Maybe you’re struggling with a specific problem such as personal or work relationships, trauma, anxiety or you may have experienced a loss. You may be feeling overwhelmed by difficult emotions that are not related to any specific event and yet you feel powerless to change them.

As a fully qualified counsellor I can offer you a safe, confidential and non-judgmental place in which you can share your thoughts and feelings and take those first steps on your own journey towards understanding and change.

What I can offer you

I am an integrative therapist and so will use various counselling approaches when working together to best suit your individual needs. I work with a range of issues, including:

  • depression
  • anxiety
  • self-harm
  • suicidal thoughts
  • domestic violence
  • emotional abuse
  • physical abuse
  • sexual abuse
  • trauma
  • bereavement
  • relationship problems
  • hearing voices
  • post-traumatic stress disorder
