About Maryjoan Foster
I have been in practice as a Homeopath since 1994, after completing a 4 year course of study at the North West College of Homeopathy. The following year was supervised clinical practice which allowed me to gain registration with the Society of Homeopaths.
A well chosen homeopathic prescription, administered as a result of a homeopathic consultation has the potential to promote and support the body's own natural healing mechanism.
My first experience of Homeopathy was in the early 80's, administering from my homeopathic first aid kit,, remedies to alleviate the painful symptoms of my infant's teething and also supporting the healing of bumps and scrapes and other minor ailments that one's young children inevitably have.
In 1988 when my son was admitted to hospital with Menengococcal Septicaemia and the Communuity Paediatrician declared that as he had survived the first 12 hours of treatment he would very likely survive the illness, this caused me to take a constructive critical view of disease, treatment and recovery.
This enquiry brought me to study Homeopthy. it is the precise, subtle and gentle nature of the action of the homeopathic prescription which maintains my continued involvement in the practice of Homeopathy.
I have experience in the treatment of anxiety and depression, insomnia, post traumatic stress, childhood ailments and behavioural issues, as well as pregnancy and childbirth.
Given the holistic nature of Homeopathy, it has the potential to promote the healing of many symptoms I have not spoken of.
