About Vivienne Webb

You

You may feel desperately alone with your problems, whether or not you have people around you, who love you and care about your well-being.

You may feel isolated or stuck with a particular situation – or with a persistent emotional or mental health difficulty.

Despite your problems, you may not feel you 'deserve' to have counselling.

Or you may feel that only self-indulgent people or 'mad' people go to see a counsellor / psychotherapist – and you have been taught not to be self-indulgent and you're definitely 'not mad'.

What I can offer you

I'm a qualified counsellor / psychotherapist and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).  I invite you to make an appointment with me – to talk, to reflect, to deepen your own understanding of your situation, and to look to the future. Whatever your experience or difficulty, you’ll be warmly welcomed.

  • During counselling, I'll be listening carefully, always seeking to understand things from your point of view, and helping you find ways to support yourself and understand yourself better.
  • The therapeutic process may be short-term (from a couple of sessions to several weeks) or longer-term (continuing for several months or considerably longer) and will include regular reviews, for us to check that the way we're working is right for you.

I work with a range of issues including:

  • general counselling and psychotherapy
  • low self-esteem
  • stress
  • anxiety
  • depression
  • relationship issues
  • termination, abortion, miscarriage
  • bereavement
  • abuse
  • sexual abuse
  • trauma
  • adoption issues
  • child-related issues
  • adults and young adults with Aspergers Syndrome
  • individuals diagnosed with Schizophrenia

About me

I've worked as a counsellor for six years, with individuals struggling with a wide range of mental health problems. I've worked in a variety of settings: within the NHS, in university counselling services and with MIND the mental health charity.

In addition to the above, I've previously worked in the fields of: education (with young people and teachers), residential social work (with young people), domestic abuse (with adults) and community mental health (with adults).

I’m the mother of two young adults.

I'm supported in my therapeutic work by my clinical supervisor, with whom I meet regularly.

I'm happy to answer initial questions on the phone or by email.  Please leave your contact details and I'll get back to you.
