Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, known as “ACT” (pronounced as the word “act”) is a mindfulness-based behavioural therapy that challenges the ground rules of most Western psychology.

The goal of ACT is to create a rich and meaningful life, while accepting the pain that inevitably goes with it. Which is different because we are used to often struggle against feeling anxious/low of whatever. We do everything to avoid feeling negatively but at what cost?

It utilizes a mix of metaphor, paradox and mindfulness skills, along with a range of experiential exercises and values-guided behavioural interventions.

This style of counselling is effective with anxiety and depression, sleeping problems and other more common issues.
