Focussed Mindfulness (FM)

Focussed mindfulness (FM) is a deep, direct and non-sectarian practice which leads to a more peaceful perspective on life, relationships and work. In FM the open, non-judging attention characteristic of a mindfulness practice, is deliberately turned to a sensation in the body and then deeper to explore any feeling at its core. This exploration invites memories of a physical or emotional trauma, often buried in the unconscious, to become conscious and then processes are used to address and heal it, leaving in its place a sense of peaceful acceptance. With repeated practice this state of peaceful acceptance is accessed more and more readily and it begins to affect the practitioner’s way of being.
