Nutritional Therapy

Nutritional therapy is used to alleviate or prevent illness through dietary modification. Its aim is to achieve optimal health by providing the nutrition needed for an individuals body to function effectively.

What to expect in your first appointment

Before the consultation, a nutrition and health questionnaire will be sent to you. This will form the foundation of the case-history. During the first appointment, lasting one hour, a detailed case-history is taken, incorporating family health history, previous illnesses, medications, dietary habits and general lifestyle. This assists in diagnosis and also in advising the most suitable treatment. Dietary adaptions will be suggested as necessary and also supplements will be recommended if needed.

Further appointments are then based on individual need. A second half-hour consultation is usually recommended at four weeks after the initial consultation. At the second appointment, further nutritional support is provided and assessment will be made regarding changes in health condition and nutritional status. Subsequent consultations may be advised if necessary.
