About me

Hello and thank you for taking time to view my profile. I am an accredited and registered Counsellor with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am also a BUPA registered Therapist. I have over 16 years experience as a counsellor providing Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I have worked in varied NHS settings including many GP surgeries throughout Sheffield and the wider Yorkshire area. More recently I provided specialist counselling and palliative psychological care within a local Hospice. The Service provided help for bereaved families and people who were reaching the end of their life. I have worked in the NHS for 40 years, both as a counsellor and previously in hospital Pharmacy. I began my Private Practice at the Wellforce Clinic 4 years ago.

I have experience of working with a wide spectrum of psychological difficulties and a strong interest in working with people who are experiencing the impact of loss, grief and change related to all holistic aspects, including physical, spiritual and psychological struggles.

I believe my role is to work with individuals in a compassionate, caring and confidential way to facilitate more understanding and self-discovery. I am very aware that difficulties may have been triggered by many life experiences including loss or trauma, past or more recent. Sometimes there is a less tangible reason to seek counselling, but an important need and instinct to gain more insight and clarity in order to live life to its full potential.

I fully understand that it is not always an easy task to access counselling or begin to talk about your feelings. At your initial appointment we can discuss any concerns, how counselling may be helpful to you, and if it would be beneficial to make further appointments. I work with people on an individual basis and the length of therapy will relate to your own unique needs.

Counselling is often considered a talking therapy, however sometimes it can also be helpful to use other ways to express emotions or depth of feelings. I have experience of working in different creative ways which can be of great benefit when words are not accessible or enough to describe what you are feeling or thinking.
