The Bowen Technique is highly effective and can be used for a wide range of physical and emotional conditions, naturally encouraging the body to heal and repair itself. It is very gentle and relaxing and can also be helpful for reducing stress and anxiety.
The gentle approach means that it is suitable for all ages – from babies to the elderly, and from the fit and active to those less able. Many clients find this therapy a remarkably simple and yet effective treatment for all kinds of health issues.
What does the Bowen Technique involve?
This technique involves gentle and precise manipulation or rolling movements over various parts the body. This allows you to relax, which in turn helps release pain and tension and encourages the healing process to begin.
In between sets of moves there are short breaks, which allow the body time to respond to the moves made. During these breaks, people often feel subtle and fine adjustments happening in the body. The therapy starts a process in the body that can last for up to 5 days, so the full extent of the treatment can be appreciated after this time.
Dramatic results can occur after the first appointment, although it can sometimes take up to 3 or 4 sessions. However, there is no limit as to how many treatments someone can receive and regular top ups are of great benefit for general health maintenance and to help prevent re-injury.
